Why are religions that are offshoots of a main religion that worships God so against Lucifer?

Religions such as Protestants and Baptists broke away from a main religion that worshiped God to follow what they believed. Lucifer broke away from God to follow what he believed. Shouldn't Protestants, Baptists, and every other offshoot form of Christianity then have sympathy for Lucifer, simply because they decided to follow their own hearts just as Lucifer decided to follow his? I'm not saying they should worship Lucifer, but shouldn't they at least sympathize with his plight some?
